2021 June 26th at 8am
Held in conjunction with the annual Gwynn’s Island Festival in Mathews County, Virginia on the last weekend in June.
Starting and ending adjacent to the festival grounds, the route follows quiet backroads around the island, behind the local fire station, by the small rural post office, and alongside a wharf side dock. The race course is 4 miles and there will be a 1+ mile fun run option available.
Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled race start time. There is ample parking at the festival parking lot and it is a short walk to the race start/ finish area. Race bibs and any giveaway items will be available for self-service pickup. Volunteers will be on hand to assist with questions.
The cost for the Gwynn’s Island Festival race is $25 per person for the main race (4 mile course). The Fun Run is open at no cost for participation – note: the fun run distance is slightly longer than one mile. Registration closes 24 hours prior to the race. Click Here To Sign Up [link coming soon]
Race Day Schedule
Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, the race organizers have opted for pre-registration only to reduce contact between volunteers and participants. There will be no race day registration available. After picking up your race packet & bib, we’ll have brief instructions prior to the scheduled start.
